
The Aldi super-six this week are celery, cucumbers, lemons (3), spring onions, tomatoes (6) and garlic (4). They are all 49p each. They haven’t changed from last week, but their website has. There is a lot more on there.

Sometimes, I think as a society we take one step forward and two steps backwards. There are lots of experiments that seem to fail. The big pink box on West Bromwich High Street is still referred to as ‘iconic’, but in reality it’s a failed experiment. They intend to use it as a sixth form college now. (more…)

It’s a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, when by tradition, it rains. It’s looking a little dark, but not raining at the moment. The forecast says the temperature here will drop to 9C tomorrow with more rain. Things should start to improve on Wednesday though when a little sunshine is forecast. I have used an artistic picture of Forge Mill Farm for today’s blog. I thought about going there again this weekend, but hardly worth it now. You do have to make the most of the good weather while it’s here in England. I read this morning that people have been setting fire to themselves lighting barbecues while slightly inebriated. This weather could be a blessing in disguise, if it gives the fire service a rest. (more…)
