On Sunday we went out in the wilds of the Black Country. This is Sandwell Valley Country Park and the canalised section of the River Tame. I was using my 300mm telephoto lens which gave me the opportunity to zoom in on subjects. (more…)
I had two text messages yesterday afternoon one after another; from Black Country Si. Who’s rattled his cage? I thought. For a moment I thought it might be something serious, like Banks’s running out of mild… (more…)
Last weekend I photographed the narrow-boats at Waterside Place in Walsall. This weekend they are in Birmingham doing a floating market. Try to take a look at that this weekend, you could even take your camera! (more…)
It nice and sunny in the Black Country this morning. It’s early yet though, the forecast is for cloud this afternoon. We have to enjoy summer now, it passes so quickly we can’t waste a minute of it. I shall be out taking photos again today. (more…)

Last weekend I took this photo in a park. The UK has lots of parks and nature reserves and so there are lots of picnic areas. Going somewhere and perhaps taking a picnic blanket, food and drink and even a small radio for a little music; could make for a nice afternoon out. Others might go shopping and take advantage of the sales on this weekend. You’ll find those bargains on Monday.
