A Sunday ramble in June…
I couldn’t decide on a photograph to begin this blog with. This one isn’t very exciting, but it is a favourite place to take photographs. I held the camera close to the water and took a few shots last time and the pictures are too dark but it made the waves look huge! I am waiting for a quiet day, perhaps a Sunday and good light. I have a quiet day but like on the day I took this photograph, it’s cloudy.
In the news this week was exploding alarm clocks and killer cucumbers, I blogged about that and yesterday I mentioned the story of the Russian Army eating dog food in my Derby Day blog. Other news out of Russia was a bizarre story of a computer programmer who thought it would be lucky to be buried alive! His friend buried him with a bottle of water, mobile phone and a few essentials. It is thought that rain got into his breathing tubes over night and he was found dead next morning; not so lucky after all. In other news a kid in China was reported to have sold his kidney and got a laptop computer and an IPhone for it.
I am trying to post an update to my Neodigital Art blogs once a week and add some pictures to the blogs. The latest one is update number eight and the pictures are making my home page look more professional. You can find a lot more blogs on the home page and there is a lot of humour this week.
There is a lot of interest in blogging, but many bloggers have given up because the competition is quite strong. I read some blogs and the bloggers can’t really use word craft to get across what they want to say. In some cases they seem to have very little to say! I try to make my blogs informative, entertaining and amusing! The best platform seems to be WordPress and you can either use WordPress.com or get WordPress to go on you own web space as a content management system. The other site is Blogspot that people choose because it’s easy to put advertising on and make a few quid; I don’t recommend it. If you want to make money put WordPress on you own web space with a little advertising and preferably not Google.
I have a hospital appointment in few weeks, I’ll try to take a photograph of the new hospital. It is really good but they are still building it! It cost close on £400 million. I read today that a new Royal Navy destroyer cost over a billion; the price of three super – hospitals and it still doesn’t have working missile systems. With the Euro-fighters said to cost over £100 million each, it makes you wonder if we need to spend that much on defence? I also read that the security services did a little hacking and messed up a Al Qaeda PDF promoting terrorism – that was presumably cheaper. Maybe, the internet is the future of war and conflict? We need national security but maybe we can do it in a smarter way and stop trying to police the world?
This blog isn’t very amusing, I’ll try to do better tomorrow; inspire me with comments. You can also share with your friends by clicking the ‘share’ button or follow me on Twitter even!
