The Lake
Most people can find something to photograph close by these days and it’s inexpensive with a digital camera. Then you can share your photographs using Windows Live, Photobucket or Facebook. We started at this lake and it’s relaxing walking around and sometimes we talk to people. It’s less than two miles away and I am quite often happy to just go there but we took some pictures and I shot some video clips and we moved on. Yes, I’m making a video!
The Manor House
The Manor house is quite close by, perhaps 800 yards away!
You probably don’t have a 13th Century Manor House in your backyard but there is always something. I photographed a butterfly in the garden today! It is run as a museum and is free to walk around.
It even has a moat! We have photographed that before, but we got much better pictures this time and then went on to a nature reserve and farm! It was a few miles away, amazing what we have even in a urban environment like this.
Its free to walk around the farm and look at the cows and chickens and you can buy a few things from the farm shop. I decided to go nuts and buy a can of Coke!
You can find things to photograph close by, you just have to look. We went to the ruins of a priory later and I took pictures here of the cows and chickens. On the way back we went to another small pool and walked across a heath where we looked at the rocks and geology of the heath. We found shale that is from a volcano millions of years ago!
I hope you have enjoyed this blog and you might like to read another. My last ramble of July was interesting! There is also Money | DIY and the thrifty and frugal blogs have been popular. There are lots more to choose from on the Home Page.
Your photography is beautiful!

Hi Maria,
Thanks, I had some good things to photograph yesterday. I ended up driving nearly 30 miles! I will be using more of those photographs in other blogs.
Thank for visiting.

Anytime I hear Lake, it makes me wanna jump out of my bed and just crawl towards it. I just relax hearing the name so you can imagine the meditating effect it would have on me if I went. The picture you shared of your lake makes me want to visit. So Nice. Me and my friend are planning to go to lake next Sunday. Yay!!! Thanks for sharing your visit!!!!

Hi Neha,
I went to two on Sunday. I have made a video of it all! I have put that on Facebook and will try to embed it in a blog. I have combined the video clips with stills and relaxing music. I like it! 🙂

All of your photos are great but the one with the house, lake and willow trees I think is my favorite today. I always try to pick favorites when you post multiple photos and then figure out why. Did you put the branches in the upper left corner of the picture on purpose?
Thanks for traveling so far to take your photos. You’re making me homesick for England!

I do try to get a plant or branch of a tree in the foreground. It isn’t always possible but we do have a lot of trees! The lake near the farm didn’t have trees handy for that and there were too many people around; I hope to get better pictures next time. There is another farm too that might be interesting. I see willow trees a lot and they enhance the photo.
