Neodigital Art Update 30
I have chosen this photograph to begin with because I was shooting into the sun. The sun was shining through the trees and gave a good effect, but I must have moved as I took the shot. The days are shorter now and so even mid-afternoon the sun is quite low in the sky. The light is very different from what it is in the summer and so we get Autumn colours as the leaves change colour but also the light has an effect.
This was taken much earlier but the same afternoon. You can see even though the sun was higher in the sky we still have shadows and the mix of colours gives and interesting photograph.
This photograph was in the summer but the light wasn’t very good. The trees on the right are green but on the photograph I took in October they are a variety of colours.
This is a better shot because you can see the lake on the right better and there are more interesting colours. The light was poor on both occasions though and I was more interested in Forge Mill Farm nearby. I thought in that light I would get better pictures of buildings.
This is the farm taken a little later and the poor light doesn’t make very much difference. Windows Live photo gallery allows you to edit photos very quickly and the one feature adds reds for warmth or blues to make it cooler. I added warm for this picture to bring out the colours of the brick work. I have been asked to take photographs of the snow again this winter. I took a few photos out of the window last year! Taking photographs of snow gives a different kind of light and light is reflected everywhere off the snow. I tend to add a little blue to the photograph to highlight differences. The frozen trees covered in ice can look quite spectacular!
Finally, a snow picture from last winter; I think I’ll add less blue next time! It’s still cool though! That was taken out of an upstairs window; nice angle.
