Thrifty Thursday shopping for bargains

The super-six at Aldi this week are sprouts (500g), carrots (1Kg) and parsnips (500g) are all at 39p and the Maris Piper potatoes (1.5Kg), lemons (6) and clementines or satumas (600g) are all at 69p. Today’s special buys might be worth looking at if you are still looking for Christmas presents.

I was looking at cameras a while ago and so Amazon keep sending me emails about cameras. One I noticed was a Nikon that keeps getting reduced. It was half price and then went up in price for ‘Black Friday’. It is on offer again! This Nikon camera seems good for the money at 49.99.

Gift Vouchers

Be careful buying gift vouchers this year. If there is the slightest chance the retailer might go out of business, then avoid them.

The Poundland challenge is to buy all your Christmas present for ten pounds! I had nice gift bags 3 for a pound from there. I like the sacks for presents with ‘Dear Santa, I can explain…’ on them too.

It’s the last day for ordering online from Matalan for next day delivery. You could look on their website for ideas though…

You can still pick up gifts from local traders on markets. My local market will be on Friday and Saturday and expect they will be busy.

Supermarket vouchers

Remember that supermarket vouchers from the major supermarkets are useful gifts. If your friends are broke after Christmas, they can at least buy food with those vouchers.

Avoid payday loans

Finally, buy what you need this week, not everything you want. Avoid payday loans like the plague. Don’t make your Christmas shopping something you’ll regret in January… Christmas is about people, not things…
