Aldi and Parking Eye
The Aldi super-six this week are salad potatoes (1 Kg), chestnut mushrooms, fun-size pears (8 pack), plums (400g), fun-size apples (7) and pineapple. They are all 69p each. Remember that the apples, pears and plums are in season. If you know someone with trees ask if you can buy some from them. You might have to pick your own though. I can’t pick all the apples on my trees!
There are 5 different offers to check out in the meat offers at Aldi, I like the turkey steaks. There are lots of special buy offers for today that will interest cyclists. Make sure you have bright lights on your bike for the winter and bright clothing too. I might have the daffodil bulbs to brighten up my front garden in spring…
There are more special buys at Aldi for Sunday, including a Work-Zone mobile phone for 39.99. It certainly looks cool and would be quite rugged. It has a FM radio and a MP3 player, so you can listen to music while you work.
My sister got a Parking Eye ticket on an Aldi car park and there are limits to the amount of time you can park on some car parks. Parking Eye has a reputation and there have been lots of complaints. You can read the Aldi response to some of those complaints on their Facebook page. They say Parking Eye has a ‘fair’ appeals process (my sister will get her money back then?) and there is an email address to complain to Aldi. Parking Eye will threaten legal action but it seems they have no legal claim and their parking tickets are simply a claim. If they give me a ‘ticket’; I’ll tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine…
I just came across this: Aldi’s Car Park Management Department on 01793 836317. It might be worth calling them if you are a victim of Parking Eye. You can also email customer-services@aldi.co.uk. It seems Blue badge holders can register their blue badge with the store manager and get a longer time to do their shopping. I wonder if Aldi or Parking-Eye will give those blue badge holders the charge they have paid back, who didn’t know they had to register?
I think Aldi need to get rid of Parking Eye. What next? Wonga loans to do your shopping?
What do you think? Have you been threatened with the County Court by Parking Eye for a dodgy ‘parking ticket’? Please share your views or experiences in the comments box. You can also follow me on Twitter and get updates.

ughh! so, I’m organising a legal campaign to try and fight PE back, amongst the other private parking firms, for exactly this sort of reason. sorry to hear for your sister Michael…

Hi Mike,
Great, I think this company is a rogue company that needs to be put out of business. I’ll check the site out later.
