Thrifty Thursday: Bargains and deals
The Aldi super-six this week are baby corn (135g), Romaine lettuce (2), oranges (5/6/7 pack), large vine tomatoes (500g), mushrooms (380g) and fun-size bananas(7). They are all 69p each and the offer lasts until the 18th of June.
The super-six meat offers includes a whole chicken (1.5Kg) for 4.29. Click the link to see those offers. I had a small chicken for 2.99 this week.
I had a self watering trough this week to put plants in, but I think there is a part missing that holds the water.
Special Buys
Today’s special buys includes golf shoes, golf gloves and golf balls. There are lots more offers so check those out. I can’t go today, but I hope the leather belts are on offer next time I go. The last time I bought one from Aldi, it was too short and wrongly marked with the size.
The Sunday special buys includes ladies tee shirts and other clothes. I want the shopping bag for 6.99.
They still had the camping equipment in when I went and so I bought a little camping stool. My friend bought a tent for 29.99.
Credit Cards
If you need a balance transfer credit card, Barclaycard and the Halifax are worth checking out. The Post Office Platinum card is 0% for 18 months on balance transfers with 0.7% fee. It’s 0% on purchases for 3 months. The offer ends the 31st of July.
Mortgages
The TSB is paying the stamp duty on certain mortgages. Mortgages of between 75% and 90% LTV. Where the property purchase price is between £125,001 and £250,000, the TSB will pay your Stamp Duty or give you £1,000 towards moving costs. (Read the conditions carefully).
Concessions
Lots of stores do concessions now for over 60’s. B&Q have a Diamond Card to get 10% off on Wednesday’s. With everyone spending more time in the garden that could be a handy saving.
Have you seen a bargain this week? Please share your finds in the comments box. Remember the pounds shops offer good value on some things too. My local Poundland has garden tools and gloves, etc.
