Darlaston Fun Day

DSC_0067 (Copy)

I photographed Darlaston Fun Day in King’s Hill Park yesterday. I didn’t have to go far for this one, I could hear the PA system from my garden. It rained before I even set out and so I was expecting poor light and more rain.

I wanted some photos of the whole event but in bad light it’s better to get some close up photos of people having fun and some of the charities present.

Shots with a lot of colour look interesting and hide the grey skies. The kids seemed to enjoy the afternoon, at least until the rain came.

This shot is colourful and you have some action too. I captured the action with the camera set for multiple shots and a fast shutter speed.

My Nikon has about 11 focus points that come up as red dots in the viewfinder. To get a really sharp shot get as many of those to light up as red dots as possible on the subject. As you can see in this shot, the subject is quite sharp and clear but the background slightly blurred and less clear.

There will be another Fun Day soon at Pelsall on the 6th of August. I might be at the one in Pleck Park on the 20th of August taking more photos soon. Are you having fun this summer? Please share you thoughts in the comments box. You can also follow me on Twitter.
