The Review: Sex and Drugs
It seems the European Commission is asking the government for 1.7 bn pounds because our GDP is more than they thought it was when they add in the illegal sex and drugs trades. It works out to over £500 for every worker in the country.
I talked to someone familiar with the sex and drugs trade and he said it’s all those down London that are the problem. Apparently they spend a fortune on Coke in London, apparently they can’t get enough of the stuff. Here in the Black Country we make do with a bottle of Dandelion and Burdock from Aldi. The sex trade can be a problem, I was thinking of going to Walsall this week and the traffic down the Wednesbury Road goes that slowly now, I’m worried about getting nicked for kerb crawling.
It’s the 1st of November and so we have Guy Fawkes night this week too. I might go to the big bonfire, disco and fireworks display in Brunswick Park and take photos. It will be the big official switch on of the Christmas Lights in a few weeks time. I don’t have the date confirmed yet, but it will probably be the last Friday in November in the middle of the rush hour about 6 or maybe 6:30 depending on the weather and whose pressing the switch…
Finance Friday: Stock and shares ISA? was my post yesterday on a Zillion Ideas. As the title suggests it was about investing on the stock market within an ISA wrapper to save on income and capital gains tax.
Thrifty Thursday: Halloween bargains was about saving rather than making money. I’m still looking around for Christmas presents. My car will be in the garage for it’s annual MOT and it will be checked over for the winter. Looking after it has saved me from having any major repairs done. I’ve been driving it for 10 years and it was 7 years old when I bought it, so it’s doing well. It’s still in quite good condition, I’m hoping to take it to classic car shows in a few years time…
A Walsall Arts Fest Event: Three Days in November was my Wednesday post. Those three days are this week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I hope to go there on Thursday afternoon. Dare I risk driving down the Wednesbury Road in broad daylight?
Photography: focusing was my usual Tuesday photography post. I’ve been experimenting the last few days with camera settings. I need the right settings for night photography now, so I can photograph the fireworks.
What is art? was my post on Monday, that explored the nature of art. It can be confusing and we all have different tastes in art.
The Sunday Halloween ramble was my usual Sunday morning ramble through the lesser known pathways of my mind. I’ll be writing another ramble tomorrow. I’m not sure if I will go out taking photos tomorrow. I have an event to photograph on Tuesday, the fireworks on Wednesday after my car comes back and the Arts Fest event on Thursday. I have a busy week ahead. I feel tired just thinking about it.
I always welcome comments and I have opportunities for people who want to try writing articles for a zillion ideas.
