Offers and special buys #thrifty

The Aldi super-six this week are red onions (1kg), sweetbite peppers (150g), chestnut mushrooms (150g), rhubarb (400g), Jersey Royal new potatoes (500g) and green beans (220g). They are all 59p each and the offer lasts until Thursday 4th of June.

The top special buy today is a portable in car DVD player for 89.99. There are also offers for camping enthusiasts and garden items such as the gas barbecue for 39.99.

The special buys on Sunday include some useful Workzone tools.

Asda

The top offers at Asda didn’t impress me, but the high powered Duracell AA batteries are 2 packs for £8.00. I do use those for the flash gun on my camera.

I wasn’t impressed with the special offers at Tesco either. The discounters are not only beating the big supermarkets on food, but non-food items like shampoo.

Matalan have their summer lines in now. I noticed that they have included wellington boots…

Blue Inc specialises in clothing for the 18 to 30 group. I wasn’t impressed by their sale either.

Amazon is always popular for all sorts of goods and the online prices are often quite good. You can’t see what you’re buying or try things on though. I’m considering a solid state drive for my laptop. The lead to connect it to USB doesn’t come with the drive and they don’t say which lead does what. The one they recommend actually looks like the wrong one! More clear and useful information is needed!
