Easter Sunday reflections
I’ve visited a few art galleries in the past year. This is our Victorian art gallery and museum here in Wednesbury. I’ve also visited Bilston Craft Gallery where I was impressed with an exhibition there. I was less impressed when I went to West Bromwich and went in the ‘Public’ with it’s pink neon lights. (more…)
Art and pattern recognition
I went to Bilston Craft gallery this week. It’s not so much a craft gallery as a library and art gallery. The pieces exhibited in the photograph are by Jane Wilson from Shrewsbury and is called ‘Hitting the right notes’. When I am taking photographs, I look for interesting patterns and we definitely have patterns here.
Who are we to judge?
Today’s picture is of the Grapes Pool, just outside Bilston. Someone drove a car into it this week. I suppose it’s easy done. Who are we to judge? Neodigital Art | Getting a good shot
Neodigital Art is about creating art with digital devices, that might be a camera, scanner, cell phone or a graphics tablet. This gives you a lot of versatility and you can use different software to create different effects. The artists of the 19th century used brush and canvas, we have technology.
The Black Country–be proud of it
None so blind
There is none so blind than those do do not wish to see. Local councils spend money trying to attract tourism to the Black Country and don’t see the attractions that we already have or to be more accurate don’t appreciate. Regular readers will recognise the pool in the photo as the ‘Milky Pool’. I took this photo yesterday afternoon, when the weather changed to unusually warm and sunny for February. (more…)
It was an interesting week though
It was an interesting week that started with The YamYam featuring my blog on their website. The YamYam is a local news site that aggregates other sites by linking to them. They provide a useful link to local news and sites of local interest. I managed to post a blog every day this week too; I forgot to click publish last Friday! I also had my hospital appointment.
