Not the Olympics is it?

Motor Show 145

Last week, I went to the historic vehicle show in Walsall Arboretum. I hope to take a few photos today too, but the weather is much like last week, sunny but rain forecast. It’s Olympics of course. I wonder what the athletes will talk about when they get home. There will be those that will be disappointed and the medal winners who will no doubt talk about it for the rest of their days. I rode my bike from here to Sutton Park a few times when I was young. I didn’t get a medal and you really don’t want to hear about it do you?

CANALS 037

It wasn’t really great weather for photography this week. It’s been too dark, the rain is stirring up the water in the canals and making them murky. My overseas readers often want to come and see the scenes that I photograph for themselves. I think they are less keen now we are having record rainfall. steps vintage

Today’s picture is the steps down to the canal. That canal crosses Bull Lane in Moxley, local people might want to know that! I changed the photo with the ‘vintage’ option on Fotosketcher. I’ve been editing a lot of photos this week and seeing what they look like as old photos, sketches or even watercolours. Fotosketcher has lots of options. I can also edit again in Windows Live gallery after using Fotosketcher. Microsoft Paint and Smoothdraw are also useful for editing. (more…)

None so blind

There is none so blind than those do do not wish to see. Local councils spend money trying to attract tourism to the Black Country and don’t see the attractions that we already have or to be more accurate don’t appreciate. Regular readers will recognise the pool in the photo as the ‘Milky Pool’. I took this photo yesterday afternoon, when the weather changed to unusually warm and sunny for February. (more…)

Don’t time fly when you’re having fun?

Happy birthday to me…

Yes, it’s my birthday yet again. My mate Richard; in Sydney, Australia posted a picture of a teddy bear and a birthday cake on Facebook earlier (my birthday started early in Oz). That took me back to when I was a kid, playing  doctors and nurses with teddy and the girl down the road; she was the doctor. I’ll never forget what she did to teddy with that three feet of plastic tubing; no wonder his eye fell out.  (more…)
