The Aldi super-six this week are braeburn apples (6), mango, kiwis (8), plums (400g), pineapple and oranges (6). They are all 69p each.That’s the same as last week. On offer today are vegetable plug packs for 1.99. Its worth considering growing some veggies in the garden this year. Salad things like lettuces, spring onions, radishes and tomatoes are reasonably easy to grow.

It’s St Valentines Day on Thursday. Saint Valentine’s Day has been celebrated officially since the 6th century and unofficially it goes back to Roman times. The giving of traditional gifts like flowers probably goes back over 2,000 years. People also send love letters and cards to symbolise their love. In modern times chocolates and other gifts have also become popular.

I’m planning on taking photographs again this weekend, the roads will be quiet on Sunday. This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago in Wednesbury (England) where I live. I find lots to take photos of, both man made structures like buildings and of nature. I suppose we are lucky to have so much variety, but many people don’t appreciate what we have. I think wherever you live in the world, there must be something to photograph. It is so easy to share photographs now on Photo bucket, Facebook or Pinterest too. Easter starts tomorrow with Good Friday and many people will have tomorrow off and will set off for Easter break destinations this afternoon. Many will try to get through the rush hour traffic and make it much worse today. I will be staying away from the M6 motorway today! I have been comparing a few prices this week. There is a big variation in the price of meat per kilo in the UK. (more…)
