Just about everyone has a camera now and so professional photographers complain that it is hurting their business. I think the professional can still get much better shots and so will be used for weddings, but these days news photographs and stock photos often come from expensive smart phones. (more…)
First day of spring #review
Yes, it’s the first day of spring. Yesterday it was the spring equinox, the solar eclipse and there was even a super-moon, I didn’t see the super-moon, it was a bit cloudy. These things are events like Christmas and birthdays. (more…)
Shooting in winter #photography
Photography can be quite challenging in mid-winter. I took this shot last Tuesday of the frozen canal. I tried to get the rail around it and the reeds to give me some depth. I made it lighter in editing to try to make the whole picture lighter. (more…)
The Review: autumn events
We are half way through Autumn and winter is fast approaching. I managed to go to one event this week and take photographs. The bonfire and fireworks event caused traffic chaos so I didn’t get there, but at least I kept writing! (more…)
The Review: The Vine, Darlaston
I have been trying to photograph local events recently and publicise them, but I also wanted to publicise local businesses. The more people spend money in the local community, the more it will thrive. I passed by The Vine pub in Darlaston and decided to stop and photograph it on the way back. (more…)
