I like chicken and chips, but sometimes I like fish for a change. It is a little expensive, but after having a lot of frugal meals like egg and chips I can have what I want! (more…)

Money - Seeing the future

Live for today!

People tell me to ‘live for today’ and spend my money. I have been careful and now have the money to pay cash for things and so I don’t need to pay that extra £50 for the privilege of paying my car insurance monthly. I don’t go for ‘interest free credit’ because I know the interest is included in the price. I compared fresh vegetables with frozen and the frozen looked cheaper until I checked the fresh smart price ones and they were cheaper still. The potatoes were all different prices but the Smart Price British potatoes at just over 38p a kilogram were the cheapest. Check prices by the kilogram as a guide. According to their website Asda has around 30 different types of potato and over 200 products related to potatoes! I have to admit those chips in the photograph were oven chips and done with Asda’s own crinkle cut oven chips. (more…)

WEDNESDAY - WOLVERHAMPTON 019

Digital Photography

Digital photography can be quite thrifty and a great hobby for the kids. It’s worth buying them their own digital camera. The local park is a great place to begin taking pictures. Incidentally, my previous Thrifty blogs have their own page and  there are still lots of thrifty ideas there. I am using a blog with a permalink this week so I can write it in advance. (more…)
