Today’s picture was taken at the top aqueduct in Wednesbury where I live. It was sunny a few evenings ago. The railings reflected well off the water. Have you noticed how much graffiti there is around the canals? That’s young people who are bored. I read this morning that an headmaster at a school is advising them to do all sorts of things. Do work at home, visit the sick and lonely, get a job and study… I assume while the kids are doing this, he will be watching his smart television, going out to a restaurant or maybe enjoying a barbecue in his expensively landscaped garden. It’s amazing how people with money and position in society,  know what’s best for people who don’t have money and position.

Thrifty Thursday | Poundland

I’ve started with an egg ‘n’ chips picture because it’s a thrifty and frugal meal. I used oven chips or it could have been even more frugal. But it’s still a meal costing less than 50p. I went to Poundland last week and picked up a few bargains. It will probably be Lidl on Sunday. (more…)

Being thrifty is spending your money wisely and being frugal is using what you buy wisely! I bought vegetables, chicken and herbs at Lidl on Sunday, that was thrifty. I made soup with them yesterday; that was frugal! (more…)

Kitchen

In my kitchen, I have plain walls and easy to clean tiles. I hope the plain walls will make it easy to redecorate next time. The fashion for some years, since the 1980’s has been for textured wall paper, that you can just emulsion, when it needs redecorating. It’s good, but you need some pictures as well in the living room and perhaps the hallway. (more…)
