The Aldi super-six this week are little gem lettuce (2), garlic (4), celery, tomatoes (6), chantenay carrots (500g) and button mushrooms (150g). Those are 49p each and the offer lasts until the 26th of February. There is still 28 days of winter to go, so think about nice warming soups and stews. (more…)
Officially the winter hasn’t even started yet, we’re still in Autumn; but the sub zero temperatures are here. I went to the switching on of the Christmas lights in Wednesbury yesterday. It was cold. The temperature was 0 C and the wind chill factor made it feel like –10. I’ll probably use the photos of that tomorrow.
The super-six at Aldi today are tomatoes (6), broccoli, swede, chantenay carrots (500g), onions (1kg) and lemons (3). They are all 49p.
My local readers will recognise the shop in today’s picture. Teddy Grays is famous in the Black Country. They sell a delicious selection of sweets. When an International student visited me last Christmas, I gave her mice made of sugar from Teddy Grays, Cadbury’s miniatures and a few other delights that we used to find in our Christmas stockings as children. We’re never too old for Teddy Grays…
The Aldi super-six this week are Royal Gaia apples (6/7/or 8), sweet pointed peppers (2), persimmon (4), large flat mushrooms (250g), cocktail vine tomatoes (250g) and conference pears (6 or 7). They are all 89p each. That offer runs from today until the 20th of November. If you’re wondering like me what a persimmon is, it’s a fruit. Make sure it’s ripe before you eat it.
