Friday the 13th | Unlucky?
It’s Friday the 13th and many people believe it’s so unlucky that they won’t get out of bed and go to work. Does luck play a big part in our lives or do we make our own luck? I could get lucky this weekend and win the lottery, so luck does play a part? I won’t win the Euro-millions tonight for the simple reason; I ain’t bought a ticket! The whole world seems to be in a depression with countries virtually bankrupt. Is it bad luck? Or is it just old fashioned stupidity? (more…)
The Black Country Rain Dance
This afternoon the flotilla of boats will go up the Thames as part of the Jubilee celebrations; all broadcast by the BBC. It’s costing over ten million pounds and there will be over 1,000 vessels and 10,000 flowers. The BBC never come here to televise our Bank holiday rain dances do they? They were dancing naked over the allotments this morning to get a bit of practice in. You should see the size of their cucumbers already! (more…)
There’s one born every minute…
I’m thinking of giving up this landscape photography and buying a sombrero. I saw the photographers taking money from holidaymakers years ago at Butlin’s by taking their photo wearing a sombrero. I saw some funny hats and sunglasses in Matalan, both for eight quid. I could walk around in the sun wearing those and pounce on unsuspecting people and take their photos and then offer to put them on a website for a few quid. I could put a few photos on the website for a fiver. It would work; there’s one born every minute and most of them live around here… (more…)
