The Sunday Ramble: Off with their heads!
Today’s picture is of the Walsall canal. It’s quite well known to the people of Walsall, because the art gallery is next to the canal. I doubt if many people have seen the more scenic parts of the canal though. Beyond those trees on the other side of the canal is Moorcroft Wood and Moorcroft Pool.
Politicians: Are you impressed?
I’ve been thinking about art this week. What do you think of my picture today? Impressed? The political parties started their conferences this week and tried to come up with a few policies. Did they impress you? Me neither…
Working Class? Who me?
The majority of people in the UK saw themselves as ‘working class’ at one time. The class structure of society was clear, the doctors, teachers and administrators were middle class, the aristocracy was upper class and the people who did the real work were working class. Now it’s more confused.
The mid-week Moan
What can I write about today? I can always moan about something…. I was reminded of buying my first computer in the 1980’s this morning. I learned how to use a word processor and I learnt some B.A.S.I.C programming. Remember B.A.S.I.C? Then Windows came out and it all got complicated… (more…)
Sunday thoughts of sunshine
This week George Osborne told the world that the government wants to sell it’s shares in Royal Bank of Scotland, signalling intent to dump billion of pounds worth on the stock market. This was done to coincide with the bank announcing huge ‘paper’ losses. Not surprisingly the banks share price tanked on the stock market and so did Lloyd’s Banking Group. Well done George…
