There is a bewildering array of cameras available and there are also smart phones and tablet computers that take photos too. How do you choose one? (more…)
Photography | Up close, in macro mode
When the weather is bad, you can always stay in and take macro pictures of your food. The Nikon D3200 has some in camera editing effects and so for this shot I tried soft focus. It’s perhaps more suitable for portraits, but doesn’t it make the chips look nice! If you want shots for photo libraries, these type of shots tend to be in demand.
Photography and neodigital art.

Fujifilm versus Nikon
I live on the north side of Wednesbury, this pool or lake is on the south side. I’m not really sure if it’s big enough to be called a lake, but looks like one. This picture looks good, but it was taken in 2011 on a sunny day with my Fujifilm S5600.
Black Country art and history.
Today’s photo was taken yesterday with my new Nikon camera in Wednesbury. Today we have a meeting in the Brunswick park of the local history group. There is also the Walsall Arts Fest at White Lion in Walsall. The weather isn’t looking too good yet though. I’ll try to go. I think the Arts Fest could attract a crowd. (more…)
From carrots to condoms
This week at Aldi, the Super-Six are the same as last week, carrots (1 kg), new potatoes (750g), parsnips (500g), sweetheart cabbage, cucumber and mild onions (3); all 39p each. I had the bumper pack of chicken (1.26Kg) last week for £2.49 and the pork chops (700g) are on special offer for £2.99.
