I took today’s photo a year ago at West Bromwich Manor House. The Boer War re-enactment group is there again this weekend for a re-enactment of an American civil war battle. The bank holiday weather isn’t good. As usual, we have rain. At the moment it seems to have stopped and we’re British, we just go on! (more…)
This week in blogs
It wasn’t really great weather for photography this week. It’s been too dark, the rain is stirring up the water in the canals and making them murky. My overseas readers often want to come and see the scenes that I photograph for themselves. I think they are less keen now we are having record rainfall. The Black Country Living Museum advertises as an all weather venue, but I will wait until the weather improves. I think I’ll get some fascinating photos there and it’s not cheap to go in so I want a good day for it. I still went out and took a few photographs of the canals this week, despite the dark skies. Neodigital Art | Update 21
Black and White
It poured with rain on Friday and when it stopped we took a few photographs, this one shows the effect of bad light and a suitable subject. This was a demolition site and the water adds to the effect. I also did a sepia version of this photograph, but the black and white seemed to work better.
