Photography: Out in the Black Country
On Sunday we went out in the wilds of the Black Country. This is Sandwell Valley Country Park and the canalised section of the River Tame. I was using my 300mm telephoto lens which gave me the opportunity to zoom in on subjects. (more…)
Photography: Black Country weekend photos
I took this shot on Sunday of this lock keepers cottage on the Rushall canal. It looks very different in summer. The last time I was there was mid winter. (more…)
Photography: Black Country landscapes
It’s still winter for another 9 days in, but the sun is coming out a little now. The light for this shot was quite good, but the sun was low in the sky and so lots of shadow. It’s the canal and shows two 18th century bridges. (more…)
Photography: Getting a message across
Today I’ve tried to get a message across with an image and with words. This is a picture of the bridleway where it goes under a road bridge in Sandwell Valley Country Park. (more…)
Photography: Sandwell Valley
The Black Country isn’t known for beautiful landscapes, but I only had to go about a mile and a half to take this photo. I added a border and title with PhotoScape. The winter colours were interesting with the sun quite low. (more…)
Free places to go
Free places to go in the Black Country
Last Sunday I managed to go to a park to take some photos, then on to Walsall Art gallery and even managed a visit to Sandwell Valley Country park in West Bromwich. There are lots of free places to go and photograph.
What to do this Bank Holiday weekend
Last weekend I took this photo in a park. The UK has lots of parks and nature reserves and so there are lots of picnic areas. Going somewhere and perhaps taking a picnic blanket, food and drink and even a small radio for a little music; could make for a nice afternoon out. Others might go shopping and take advantage of the sales on this weekend. You’ll find those bargains on Monday.
Photography and art
I went to Sandwell Valley on Sunday afternoon. It was windy as a storm was coming in. It was my second choice, I intended to photograph the historic vehicle show, but I was late for that and then my car battery was flat and i had to charge it for an hour. So I ended up here. I have decided to do a collection of river and canal pictures for a competition and maybe a summer exhibition.
Neodigital Art | The River Tame
Neodigital Art is about editing pictures to create something with emotion. I was quite annoyed when I took this photo, because the sun had gone behind a black cloud. I’ve used colorize in PhotoScape for an artistic edit. What do you think? (more…)
Sunday in the Black Country
The photo today is of the River Tame in Sandwell Valley Country Park. I’m not sure where I’ll go today. I want to go somewhere, because the weather forecast is good. At Walsall it’s the Caldmore Village Festival in Palfrey Park. I was going to photograph that last year, but the weather wasn’t very good.
Neodigital Art | Editing with PhotoScape
Today’s picture was taken at Forge Mill Farm in Sandwell Valley and I’ve edited it with PhotoScape taking out some cars in the background and I changed the colours to look like sepia.
Neodigital Art | Forge Mill Farm
I’ve started today with a photo of Forge Mill Farm, I went there on Easter Sunday. It was cold! There is still some snow about and so I had to wrap up warm and try to cope with the poor light.
