The Review: first day of summer

flowers on the brambles

It’s the first day of summer here in the UK and we can now enjoy three months of mowing the lawn, washing the car and trying to get a bit of a tan. People will be getting their summer clothes out; the shorts and the tee shirts. There will be some sights out there to photograph in the coming weeks! (more…)

A Sunday Ramble – allergic?

Midland Metro Bridge

After about ten days of constant rain we seem to have a little sunshine today. The smarter people will be scraping the rust of their barbecues and planning days out. I’m planning a day out taking more photos. In England we tend to not plan too far in advance or spend too much money on events in summer, because the weather is so unpredictable. There are people who go out in the rain and wave flags, buy ice creams and do all kinds of weird things. I have even seen them wearing sunglasses in the rain. Are they trying to keep the rain off their eyes? I don’t go out in the rain very often, but if I did, I would wear a coat, not tee shirt and shorts. We are now into the pollen season of course… (more…)

Neodigital Art | In the summertime

I’ve used photos of this lake in a lot of blogs but it keeps on changing. It is officially summer now and all the trees have leaves and everything is getting greener. I took a few shots of this scene and they are all different. The sky is a deeper blue in the other shots, but I used this one because it has ducks! (more…)

Neodigital Art | Changing seasons

Morecroft 012

This photo was taken in Morecroft Wood and it’s a pool that the locals call the ‘Sanna’. Many years ago there was a sanatorium nearby that was viewed as quite a scary place because it was an isolation hospital mainly used to isolate people with contagious diseases like smallpox. You had to be quite brave to go swimming or fishing in the ‘Sanna’. I stayed well away until I was a teenager when we did go near there, but even then we were cautious! There was a chemical factory not far away and that was probably more dangerous than smallpox! (more…)

Neodigital Art | Summer and Autumn

Bilston Canal

This is my summer photograph taken in a poor light but it was daytime. The trees have leaves and are green and even the colour of the water is different from the Autumn photograph below. This photo was taken on the 24th September and so Autumn had just begun; to be more accurate! (more…)

A Sunday ramble in July

the Metro

Sunday afternoon in summer

I still have a cold but I think my throat is better; I’m not coughing so much. The picture is the Metro, it runs from Birmingham to Wolverhampton. This is a an artistic impression. I can control my coughing now, but still not sure about the sneezing. One sneeze while I’m driving and we could have a pile up. It would be like something out of last night’s film on TV where they wrecked half the town. No, I didn’t win the lottery, not a sniff… It’s a typical Sunday afternoon in summer; boring…
