OMG! The Bullingdon Boys are in Beijing!
Yes, the Bullingdon Club boys, George Osborne and his mate Boris Johnson have been dispatched to Beijing to get investment for Britain. My apologies for linking the Bullingdon word to the Daily Mail, but like George and Boris I was desperate. The picture is good isn’t it? Notice the big gun on the top of that boat!
Photographing and preserving history
There can be many reasons for taking photographs. It can be to create art, for nostalgic reasons, to preserve history or just for the fun of it.
Black Country Art review
I’ve come to the end of my art week and so I thought I would start today with an artistic edit. You never know, pictures like this might be displayed in the art gallery one day. We could launch a whole new school of art from here in the Black Country. We could call it, “Flyin’ Pigs”. We could do worse…
A trip to Walsall
I went to the wonderful town of Walsall yesterday. I used to think Walsall was great. The market used to go up the hill nearly to the church and that street was lined with little interesting shops. Walsall is a shadow of it’s former self.
Another midweek moan

They stand on a hill with steep sides on this side. A 1,000 years ago a castle stood there and Princess Ethelfreda fought the Viking invaders from there.
This week – the truth?
I have written a few blog this week both on this site and on a zillion ideas. The UK is still in recession, the government still insists on austerity and the rich get richer. I write my ideas on how to cope with all the things that are happening. This week saw the ‘truth’ as the Sun saw it after the Hillsborough disaster. They backed the police, who blamed the fans, but now we get closer to the truth. Am I surprised that a police officer claims that she was coerced into changing her statement by an officer from the West Midlands? Perverting the course of justice isn’t new. News International publishing total crap isn’t new either.
Sandwell or Solihull?
The picture above was taken near my home in Wednesbury, which is part of Sandwell. Six towns make up Sandwell as part of local government reorganisation that made large Metropolitan Areas governed by Metropolitan councils. These were formed in 1974 and many people think it made things worse. Local government certainly became more ‘politically correct’. (more…)
