We have more snow, here in England and so I thought I would cover editing snow pictures a little more. I edited this this one with PhotoScape and used the option to make it look like a pencil drawing and added some text.
This post was originally published on a zillion ideas on the 1st of January 2013.
I start each blog with a photo and I used this one yesterday. I edited it with Windows Live photo gallery. The sun came out for this one and the blue sky is reflected on the water. The aperture was narrow, so good depth of field, but it wasn’t so good before editing.
Today’s picture is a little different to the usual photo that I start a blog with. This is one is of Blackpool, a popular seaside resort in the North of England. You can see Blackpool Tower and the pier; it was taken by Simon James. I edited the photo last night with Windows Live Photo Gallery; cropping it to make it look quite panoramic.
I think this photograph is quite artistic, it was a good shot and then I edited it to try to get something artistic. This is the original picture:
I took this photograph last Autumn and as you can see the sun was bright and reflected well off the Autumn colours. The picture looks dull though and so I can improve it a lot with editing. I used Windows Live Photo Gallery, it’s easy to use.
As I write this I can see blue skies and sunshine. It wasn’t like that when we went out to take photographs on Sunday, it was dull and cloudy. It looks nice today, but the wind is a cold Arctic wind. I might still try to take a few photographs later. This picture is after I did the edit, take a look at the before picture, very dull.
I’ve gone even more artistic than usual today with this photograph of Forge Mill Farm shop converted into a ‘sketch’ using Fotosketcher. Then I opened it with Windows Live photo galley and converted it to sepia! (more…)
